Legal & Liability Terms

When an electric bike, trike or conversion kit is labeled as street legal, it means that the electric bike or trike complies with Australian Electric Bike Regulations to the best of our knowledge. These products are considered bicycles, not motorised vehicles, and do not require insurance, license plates, or drivers' licenses. It is important for you to review the current state/territory and local laws to ensure that you are riding legally and safely.

Please be aware that being street legal does not automatically permit riding your electric bike or trike on all bicycle pathways; parks and trails may have their own restrictions regarding the use of electric assist bikes.

If electric bikes or conversion kits are modified, such as altering speed settings or upgrading controller or motor components, the product may lose its street legality regardless of who performs the modifications. In the event of default settings or component modifications, E-Ride Shop assumes no responsibility for fines, damages, losses, or any other consequences resulting from riding such a bike.

E-Ride Shop also assumes no responsibility for fines, damages, losses, or other consequences resulting from riding the bike on public roads where, according to local rules and regulations, the bike is not considered street legal or should not be ridden for any reason.

It is solely the purchaser's responsibility to understand the state rules regarding the use of E-Bikes and Trikes and where they are permitted to be ridden.

E-Ride Shop assumes no responsibility beyond quality control of products and components in-house or at manufacturing facilities, supplier selection of products including Li-Ion battery packs, and street or non-street products.

All customers should fully understand their product, how to maintain it, and how to use it safely.

If you, the purchaser, choose to alter speed settings (i.e., change the maximum speed), E-Ride Shop accepts no liability or responsibility.

Except to the extent specifically prohibited by law, E-Ride Shop shall not be liable for any property damage, personal injury or death, fire-related incidents, loss of use, loss of opportunity, loss of contract, loss of goodwill, business interruption, loss of profits, consequential loss, or any other direct, indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages, whether based on contract, warranty, negligence, product liability, or any other theory.

E-Ride Shop shall not be liable for any accidents, misuse, abuse, loss, or injury to or by the rider or a third party, even if caused by the E-Bike or Trikes power, speed, improper or illegal parameter setting, component defect, or malfunction.

This disclaimer applies in all cases, whether due to breach of warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other cause.

By purchasing this equipment, the buyer agrees that E-Ride Shop shall not be liable for any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, even if the company has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Customers assume all responsibilities and liabilities for all products, including but not limited to e-bikes, conversion kits, batteries, e-bike components, brakes, bike mechanical parts and adjustments, electrical wiring, unforeseen incidents, safety issues, maintenance, and services.

All e-bike riders must comply with all traffic regulations, geographical or age restrictions, and are responsible for following rules and updates specific to the type of vehicle they are using.

Customers are fully responsible for understanding the safety concerns and regulations related to the storage, charging, use, and transportation of Li-Ion battery packs.
